Come work in the fast paced cannabis industry! We are hiring for a full time Human Resources Manager to work out of our Fort Lupton office. This is an on-site position, primarily based in Fort Lupton, with office hours in Milliken, Garden City, Ault, Log Lane Village, and Sedgwick as needed.

Heavy preference will be given to candidates who already have their badge to work in the cannabis industry in Colorado. If you don't already have that, you can apply with the State of Colorado.

This is a full time ON-SITE position, working 40+ hours per week. The general hours are Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm, with other hours as needed, including a few hours every other Sunday to prep for the payroll process.

Pay Range - $65,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

SUMMARY:

Oversee all HR functions, including supervision of an HR Specialist.

Job Duties-

HUMAN RESOURCES:

  • Create company wide communications on all topics, including HR and people related programs, MED rules and regulations, and company events.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Work closely with Finance team to prepare for bi-weekly payroll, including pay changes, benefit enrollments, missed punches, and all pay related updates.
  • Administer FMLA and FAMLI paid leave program.
  • Oversee ADA compliance and processes.
  • Oversee missed punches, working with managers to timely correct these for payroll processing.
  • Administer Performance Management Review process – initiate bi-annual performance reviews in HRIS, and follow up with managers to make sure they are completed timely.
  • Work with managers to deliver disciplinary action, including terminations.
  • Coach and advise managers on all people-related issues.
  • Complete investigations into workplace complaints or problems, including claims of harassment, discrimination, and hostile work environment.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Oversee compensation plan.
  • Administer Worker’s Compensation claims when necessary.
  • Update and maintain Employee Handbook and other policy and procedures for the organization.
  • Annual EEOC-1 reporting, and any other compliance reporting required.

RECRUITMENT:

  • Provide oversight and direction to HR Specialist for the recruitment of entry level store and operational positions.
  • Recruitment lead for higher level roles, such as managers and company corporate staff.
  • Train and advise hiring managers on compliant hiring practices and appropriate interviewing techniques.

BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION:

  • Work with insurance broker to provide insurance benefits to team, including renewal and open enrollment process.
  • Process new enrollments and terminations in HRIS system and with communication to the broker.
  • Answer questions about benefit programs, and assist with claim resolution by working with broker and/or carriers.
  • Oversee enrollment and maintenance of retirement program (Colorado SecureSavings), including communication efforts to current and prospective employees.

Experience, Education, and Skills needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • HR Certification highly preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Colorado employment laws.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and the ability to learn other web based programs such as an ATS and HRIS.
  • Ability to obtain badge to work in the cannabis industry in Colorado upon hire.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to all locations regularly and as needed in own vehicle. This includes Garden City, Milliken, Ault, Fort Lupton, Log Lane Village, Sedgwick, and Denver.
