Come join the growing field of cannabis! We are searching for a full time Retail Assistant Manager at High Plainz Strains of Fort Lupton, targeted to open around April 1st. We will be hiring ahead of that, to get folks trained and ready to go! During the training period, you will be assigned to work in one of the stores in Milliken or Garden City (Greeley).

This is a full time position, regularly scheduled ~40 hours per week, with overtime when needed. You will regularly be scheduled for 30+ hours per week, generally 5 shifts per week. This position requires open availability, since the store will be open from 8 am - 10 pm daily, including holidays and weekends. The only day the store is closed is Christmas Day.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of areas, including customer service, managing employees on shift, and cash handling. Previous retail management experience would be AMAZING and experience working in the cannabis industry is a huge plus as well. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, who enjoys people (both customers and employees), and who is organized and can quickly adapt to an ever changing industry. We work in a highly regulated industry, so the ability to follow rules, regulations, and established SOPs is a must. High ethical standards is a requirement, as you will be handling both product and cash on a daily basis.


Pay - this position starts at $19/hour plus tips.

Basic Functions of the Job:

  • Oversees daily activity while on shift - including making sure everyone gets their breaks and lunches.
  • Handles discounts and other pricing issues within the Point of Sale (POS) system in the store.
  • Ensures the store is clean, organized and ready for customers when on an opening or closing shift, as well as making sure it stays tidy during the shift.
  • Opens the store, including making sure drawers are ready and counted in for the day.
  • Closes the store, including balancing the cash in the drawer, safe, and ATM.
  • Handles escalated customer service issues if they arise.
  • Ensures all rules from the Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) are followed at all times.
  • Keeps track of cash moved between the drawers and safe during the day, including cash pays for supplies, etc.
  • Counts and records all tips at the end of each shift, ensuring the Front Desk Receptionist receives their portion.


Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Previous retail management experience a huge plus!
  • Previous cannabis industry experience a huge plus!
  • Ability to accurately count both paper money and coins.
  • OUTSTANDING customer service skills are required.
  • Communication skills with customers and employees are required.
  • Ability to motivate staff with regards to staying on task, providing great customer service, and selling our cool products!
  • Willingness and ability to delegate tasks to the staff throughout the shift to make sure the store stays clean, organized, and stocked.
